Size guide

When choosing footwear, please pay close attention to both size and fit (model). Well-fitting shoes are not only more comfortable, but also more durable. If the size is too small (e.g. your toes are cramped in the toe box), the shoes may wear out faster.

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR FOOT CORRECTLY

👉 Grab a sheet of paper (A4), a pencil, and a ruler.

  1. Place the paper against a wall on a flat floor and stand on it with your full weight, barefoot.
  2. Trace around your foot.
  3. Measure the distance from the heel to the tip of the longest toe, and use right angles to measure the width.
  4. Compare your measurements to the size chart below ⬇️. Add a toe allowance of 0.5–1.2 cm ( 0.2 – 0.5 inches) to find your ideal shoe size.

Tip: Measure both feet. When choosing your size, always go with the larger foot — for most people, the left is slightly bigger.

SHOE WIDTH

Standard or Wide?

Bohempia barefoot shoes come in two width options:

STANDARD – for narrow to regular feet, or for those new to barefoot footwear.

WIDE (marked with a “W”, e.g. 38W) – for wider feet or more experienced barefoot enthuiasts.

TOE ALLOWANCE

Why add extra space?

Barefoot shoes are designed to let your toes move freely and naturally.
We recommend adding 0.5–1.2 cm (0.2–0.5 inches) to your foot length when choosing your size — this extra space is called the toe allowance. Be careful not to add too much — the shoes should still fit securely and not slip off while walking.

Example: If your foot measures 25 cm, choose a shoe with an internal length of approximately 25.7–26.2 cm.

PETA-certified vegan barefoot shoes with a 100% hemp canvas upper, natural 4 mm thin rubber outsole and removable 4 mm thin insole. It supports good posture and absorbs shock with every step.

Hemp canvas is durable, breathable, antimicrobial and wicks moisture. Hemp is the world’s strongest natural fiber with amazing tear- and tensile-strength. 

These comfortable lace-up sneakers meet all the characteristics of a barefoot shoe: it is fully flexible, light, has a very thin sole with zero heel rise, and plenty of room for your toes. Available in two widths: regular and wide (marked "w" when choosing the size).

Shoe care

Before wearing your new barefoot shoes for the first time, we recommend using a waterproof spray, such as Natural Protector Pedag from our range, which will ensure the shoes are protected from the elements such as water, dirt or salt. By regularly applying a waterproof spray, the surface of the shoe will become waterproof, retain its colour and extend the life of the shoe. After applying the spray, allow the shoes to dry sufficiently, do not place them near direct heat sources and do not wash them in a washing machine. Clean worn (used) shoes first before applying waterproof spray. We recommend cleaning the surface of your shoes with a soft brush or damp cloth. You can use our eco-friendly Pedag Cleansing Booster. It thoroughly removes stains and dirt from all materials and prepares the footwear for subsequent care. It even removes salt stains without much effort.

This is my second pair-I also have the gray low tops. I have tried lots of barefoot shoe brands and this one tops them all. Most are either not quite wide enough in the toe box, or overall, or they are too flat and my high arches would feel squished. I absolutely love the Converse styling! I also feel that the sole is just the right thickness. My next pair is going to the white high tops for summer! PS shipping to California, US is very fast!

They're very comfortable from the very first wear with the flat, cushioned soles and very flexible. I love the different colors that the sole and laces add to the black hemp fabric; I just wish that the tan rubber sole was a slightly different color (and the lighter tan also makes the shoes look even wider, but it's still better than white!). The silver metal grommets for the laces and the 2 by the inner arches add a nice touch as well. The smallest size 36 is a touch too long for me, so I bought the extra insoles to make up for the extra space; so I do get heel slip even when tightening the laces which is annoying, but I love the overall look and feel that I had to keep them. At first, I didn't like how flimsy the hemp fabric felt (especially since I have to use both hands to put them on), but now I enjoy how it lightens the weight of the shoe and is not stiff. I hope that they last longer than my other shoes as I'll be wearing them just for casual wear with not too much vigorous walking.

The silhouette of the shoe and the look altogether is fantastic but the comfort of wearing them is even better because of all the space for the natural movement of the feet. The shoes are also very lightweight and the laces are uncomplicated to fasten. The colours are beautiful and catchy. I recommend them to everyone who wants to use them for everyday errands and free time and applaude Bohempia team for another masterpiece!

The shoes are very nice and comfortable. I have wanted these for a long time! I got them on sale for Black Friday. I measured my foot and ordered a 41. I think I could have gotten a 40 because there is a lot of space. But returning from America is too expensive so I just put an insole and wear thick socks. I think they run slightly big as I usually wear a 40. I’ve gotten many compliments! I love how they look just like converse but are so much more comfortable!
